Puzi City to Budai Township, Chiayi County. 26.5 Miles. Route 161 & Route 17.
When I was back in Silou having a conversation with the owner of a local cafe, I asked him if there were any areas in Taiwan I should avoid. He told me not to travel to Chiayi City, everywhere else should be fine. I would have this confirmed by a cyclist I would meet later on that told me the same thing. I don’t know what goes on over there, but I’m heading the opposite direction.
Route 161 was flat and boring, but no traffic. No shade either! Same as the 17. The 17 is super fast. Might be kind of cool if you’re a powerful road cyclist looking to break some personal records. Nice peaceful ride, could have just been that day. But it’s hot as hell with no relief from the sun.
Budai Township is a fishing town, with a seafood market and such. There was an attraction by the seaside that I checked out. I was a little hesitant at first because I saw some dogs that gave me the locals only stare. They went towards some guy on a scooter thus allowing me to bring you the following photographs:
This concludes the post for this day. Thanks for stopping by.
